about SANTO DA SERRA
Santo Antonio da Serra, commonly known as Santo da Serra has an area of approximately 14 km 2 with a population density of roughly 63 hab/km2. It is located in the interior of the southern coast of Madeira, and is divided between two municipal regions, namely Machico and Santa Cruz.
The parish name originated from the local adoration of Saint Anthony. Santo da Serra is situated approximately 600m2 above sea level and is characterized by forest vistas of acacia, chestnut and elderberry trees.
Although there is no factual documentation but it is believed that settlement may have occurred as early as 16th Century. Presently Santo da Serra has an estimated population of 1600 inhabitants. .The main activity is predominantly agriculture and the locals have maintained the traditional methods of cultivation passed down through the centuries.
The Venue
Quinta do Cabeço Alto is a family-run estate located in Santo Antonio da Serra. The venue provides the ideal setting to host any form of health and wellness retreat. The estate is fully enclosed and beautifully landscaped allowing you to ground, connect and become “in tune” with nature.
There is an adjacent studio with mats, blocks and blankets. The gardens are ideal for meditation. There is also an outdoor area suitable for training sessions.
