The Outreach Retreat is a life-changing experience where the focus is placed on both physical and emotional wellbeing. The aim is to help each participant find a balance. This is done by instilling calmness, creating awareness, and empower participants by maximizing their full potential.
The Outreach Retreat is an informal gathering of individuals wanting “time-out” from the hectic lifestyle. There are no more than 8 participants. We also provide a “one-on-one” retreat program, as well a “private group” retreat Feel free to enquire.
The Outreach Retreat is presented as a 7 night – 6-day retreat event with accommodation, meals, excursions, and airport transfers included.
6-Day Retreat Program
The 6-day retreat is based on a flexible approach. The OutReach program is composed of meditation, binaural sessions, forest walks, and zen brush painting.

The Retreat Venue
The retreat will take place on a private estate known as Quinta do Cabeço Alto, located in Santo da Serra. The location is ideal as it offers a tranquil setting away from the daily hustle and bustle, and at the same time, it provides easy access to places of interest.
Quinta do Cabeço Alto is owned and run by Claudia de Freitas who is one of the retreat leaders for this event.

The OutReach Retreat is ideal for those wanting to empowerment themselves by harnessing their full potential. This 6-day retreat is beneficial for someone mourning a loss, cancer survivors, fatigued and stressed out individuals. Basically anyone wanting to regain vitality.

Group or Solo
The OutReach Retreat is presented as a group event or as a solo/private retreat.
Although there is a daily program, you participate as you wish.
The group retreat is for a maximum of 8 persons.
The private retreat is for 2 to 6 persons.
The solo retreat is one-on-one.
The Meals
The meals serviced will be balanced Madeiran and Portuguese dishes which include meat, fish and poultry. Allowing you to experience the local cuisine. Popular dishes such as “espetada”, “frango assado”, “bites de atum” are on the menu.
Vegetarian and Vegan options, only upon request.

Payment Terms
- Payments can be made via Wire Transfer, Stripe or PayPal.
- 30% deposit upon reservation. (non-refundable but transferable. Terms apply).
- 35% due two months before the retreat event
- The final balance is due two weeks before the arrival date.

The 6-Day Outreach Retreat includes:
- Accommodation for 7 night
- Breakfast, light lunch & dinner

- 2 Island tours
- 2 “Levada” walks
- Funchal day visit
Covid-19 Test
You will be required to present a Covid-19 NEGATIVE Test to us upon arrival on the island.
If you are doing your test in your home country, bear in mind that your test must be done within 72 hours prior to your arrival. You can also do the Covid-19 test at the Funchal airport upon arrival. Presently this test is free of charge. (Please confirm with us before departure if the “free of charge” policy is still in place).
Should you choose to do the test on the island upon arrival, you will be required to wait for your test results (negative) before you can check-in at the retreat. and participate in the events. The Madeiran health services state that within 12 hours you will be presented with your test result. We suggest you do a 1 night check-in at a lodging in Santa Cruz or Machico. Once you communicate your negative test result to us, we will transfer you to the retreat venue.

- Onsite Therapeutic Massage (optional & has an extra charge)
Extra Stay
If you wish to stay some extra days at Quinta do Cabeço Alto before or after the retreat, you may do so. Just send an email to contact@madeiraislandretreat to request the extra stay. We will then recalculate the charge for your retreat booking.
Is the retreat for both men and women?
Yes, the OutReach Retreat is for both women and men. If you want to attend a women-only or men-only retreat, contact us to find out more.
Is the retreat suitable for all ages?
Yes, the OutReach retreat is suitable for all ages above 18 years of age, as long as you have no health problems which will limit your participation in our event.
Do I need to be physically fit?
The retreat events are easy to moderate and not strenuous at all. However, it is best to consult your physician in case of doubt.
Am I obliged to participate in all the events during the retreat?
No, you are not obliged. If you prefer to refrain from doing any particular activity, you are most welcome to sit that one out.
What is the difference between the three options, “group retreat”, “private group retreat” and “solo retreat”?
The “group retreat” is a group of random participants. Maximum of 8 persons. Minimum 6 persons.
The “private group retreat” is a group of friends or family traveling together. Maximum of 8 persons.
The “solo retreat” is a one-to-one retreat for up to 2 persons.
Do I need to bring any special gear for this retreat?
No, you do not have to bring any special gear. All accessories are provided such as hiking poles, exercise mats, etc.
